I’m a mid-40s chick from New Jersey, but currently living outside of Houston, TX. I’m not that successful, I’m not a mom, I don’t own a home and I’m in debt. I’m not the posterchild for 40s awesomeness. But I have job that I like, I have the best HUSBAND on earth, and wonderful friends.
I originally started blogging in 2001, on one of those online-diary type sites. I even met my husband (as well as several previous boyfriends) online and through blogging. Back in the day, I wrote cryptic entries and emo poetry. I’d like to think I’ve grown up a bit since then. But only a little bit, since I’m stressing about getting older.
I graduated from the University of Scranton in 1997, with a degree in Sociology. This was after a brief stint as a Communications Major, and another brief stint as a Psychology Major. I tell people I’ve got my degree in People Skills. Yeah, the Skills That Don’t Necessarily Pay The Bills, y’all. I hate the idea of corporate life – I read tons of blogs in my profession, and disagree and hate most of them. They spout out all the same buzzwords and cliched bullshit. Yet I continue to read, because clearly they are doing something right, making gazillions of dollars, driving Beemers and being able to blog about it for a living.
Meanwhile…
I’m just trying to get by,
“Because not all 40-somethings have their shit together”
